Giants' Jason Pierre-Paul: I'm ready to get out there and sack the quarterback

Considering his breakout year in 2011 in which he registered 16.5 sacks and 86 tackles, the last two seasons for New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul haven't been all fans had hoped. He's battled through injury, and after just 6.5 sacks in 2012, he only saw action in 11 games in 2013 with just two sacks.
In 2014, especially with Justin Tuck off to the Raiders, and one year following the departure of Osi Unemyiora, Pierre-Paul is running the defensive line show, meaning that there's really no room for another down year.
That's okay with Pierre-Paul because, as he explained to the New York Post, he's healthy and ready to get out there and terrorize the signal-callers once again.
“I don’t feel pressure at all,’’ he said. “I’m ready to get out there and do what I do best, sack the quarterback and stop the run. I’m ready to get out there and show everybody.’’
Aside from his speedy recovery from offseason back surgery, Pierre-Paul has already corrected another issue he was facing -- his weight. He's lowered that to 275, which makes him feel even better.
“I already feel like it,’’ he said. “My weight’s good, I’m out there running and nothing’s bothering me so I’m in pretty good shape.’’
