Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is a very confident player, a trait that has led to him making claims that have raised eyebrows around the league.
McCoy has said that he believes he is the best running back in the game -- yes, even better than Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson -- and he still believes that is the true.
“Yes, yes, yes,” McCoy said, via CSNPhilly.com. “Especially the last three years. Check the numbers.”
Over that span, Peterson has 4,333 yards rushing, 527 yards receiving and 37 total touchdowns. Meanwhile, McCoy racked up 3,756 yards rushing, 1,227 yards receiving and 36 total touchdowns.

By the statistics, both players have had a similar impact, though McCoy has been the more versatile offensive threat.
Peterson seemed to brush off McCoy's comments, but McCoy wants everyone to know that he is very serious when he says he is the better running back.
“I don’t know if he’s joking or what,” McCoy said when asked about Peterson laughing off his previous comments. “I don’t know how to take that. I play the game and it speaks for itself. I don’t know what that meant. I don’t understand what he was getting at.”
McCoy will have an opportunity to compile even more numbers in his second-year in Chip Kelly's offense. Whether or not he will be able to do that and convince fans he is the better of the two remains to be seen.
