Andre Johnson unsure if he'll play for Houston Texans this season
The Houston Texans don't know at this point whether or not they will have star wide receiver Andre Johnson on the field for them this season, and he did nothing to ease the team's concerns during a recent appearance on the NFL Network.
Via ProFootballTalk.com, when asked whether or not he will play for the Texans this season after skipping all offseason workouts, Johnson said, "I don't know."
He elaborated a bit further, and perhaps gave Texans fans a glimmer of hope by not completely ruling out suiting up for the team.
“I just choose not to talk publicly about it,” Johnson said. “It’s in-house and that’s the way I choose to keep it. I’m not a big media guy, so I won’t — you know, I refuse to talk about it. Training camp’s a few weeks away, so we’ll see what happens.”
Johnson has been with the Texans since they drafted him with the no. 3 overall pick in the 2003 draft and has grown into one of the most prolific receivers in the game over the years. Last season Johnson caught 109 passes for 1,407 yards and five touchdowns despite inconsistency from the quarterback position for Houston.
