The San Diego Chargers made two injury related roster transactions Wednesday when it waived former 2011 second-round pick Jonas Mouton with a failed physical designation, and sent tackle Jeromey Clary to the pre-season Physically Unable to Perform list, the team announced

The failed physical could possibly be related to issues stemming from the ACL injury that sidelined Mouton for all of last season.

Mouton only played three games for the Chargers throughout his three seasons with the team, although he missed the 2011 and 2013 seasons with injuries.

Clary is still recovering from shoulder and hip surgery. It is unclear how long Clary will be out of commission, but Johnnie Troutman and Chris Watt could see first-string playing time in practice, according to ESPN. Clary, a Kansas State product, has played his entire career with the Chargers.

Players on the PUP list such as Clary are allowed to participate in off-field team functions and team meetings, but cannot practice with the team. The Chargers can activate Clary from the pre-season PUP list at any time without penalty.
