Vikings put Munnerlyn, Sendejo, Ford on PUP list
MANKATO, Minn. (AP) The Minnesota Vikings have placed cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, safety Andrew Sendejo and tight end Chase Ford on the physically unable to perform list to start training camp.
The other player held out of the first full practice on Friday was wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, who watched wearing a bucket-shaped fishing hat because of a minor foot injury. The team announced his status as day to day.
Ford has been in a cast with a broken left foot and will be out indefinitely. Munnerlyn has a minor hamstring injury. Sendejo is dealing with nagging lower-back and ankle problems. Players on the PUP list during the preseason can be taken off at any time, and they count against the 90-man roster. They can't practice until they're medically cleared.
Coach Mike Zimmer also said one player, whom he did not identify, failed to pass the team's conditioning test on Thursday.
Two players who were fully participating again, after being limited throughout much of the spring workout sessions were nose tackle Linval Joseph and left tackle Matt Kalil. Joseph (right shoulder) and Kalil (left knee) had offseason surgeries.
The Vikings also signed wide receivers Andy Cruse and Ty Walker on Friday and waived wide receiver Josh Cooper and offensive tackle Matt Hall. Cruse was on Houston's practice squad last year and Walker spent time on both Green Bay's and Seattle's practice squads.
