Report: Packers wide receiver Jared Abbrederis has torn ACL
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jared Abbrederis has torn his anterior cruciate ligament, Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The team has not made an official announcement regarding Abbrederis' injury. The wide receiver did not practice on Friday, only watching from the sideline.
From the Journal Sentinel:
"I haven't had time to sit down with the medical staff," coach Mike McCarthy said about 11 a.m. "Right now, he has a knee. He completed practice yesterday."
The Packers drafted Abbrederis with their fifth-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft. According to McGinn, the former Wisconsin Badger slipped in the draft due to concerns about his health and durability. McGinn reports that Abbrederis sustained three or four concussions in college.
Including Abbrederis, the Packers are carrying 11 receivers on their training camp roster.
