Williams is the fourth Texans draft pick from the 2013 class to be released by the team. Third-round pick Brennan Williams was released last week. Sixth-round pick Chris Jones was released in August 2013 but later caught on with the Patriots and recorded six sacks. Third-round pick Sam Montgomery was one of three players released last October for an unspecified violation of team rules.

Trevardo Williams set the career record for sacks at UConn before being drafted by the Texans. He spent last season on injured reserve.
