New York Jets linebacker Jermaine Cunningham suffered a torn Achilles tendon during training camp practice Saturday and will miss the 2014 season, the team announced Monday.
Cunningham signed with the Jets last season, appearing in two games after being released by the San Francisco 49ers. He signed a new one-year deal with New York in January.

Cunningham, 26, started his career his with the New England Patriots as the team’s second-round draft pick in 2010. He recorded 59 total tackles, 2.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries in 36 games with the team.
