Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater to get first-team reps in preseason opener
Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said that rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will receive some first-team repetitions in the team’s preseason opener against the Oakland Raiders on Friday.
Bridgewater is in a battle with veteran Matt Cassel for the starting nod. The team’s first depth chart lists Cassel, who threw 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions last season, as the team’s starter.

Bridgewater was the team’s first round pick in May’s NFL Draft. Vikings offensive coordinator coach Norv Turner said that Bridgewater has made strides during training camp.
"We're trying to find out where he's at in terms of what he can do," Turner said, according to ESPN.com. “I think he's playing at an awfully high level.”
