Ryan: Jets RB Ivory will "be fine" after leaving game
New York Jets coach Rex Ryan said running back Chris Ivory would "be fine" after leaving the team's pre-season game against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night with an apparent rib injury. Ryan did not say when Ivory might return.
Ivory is one of three Jets running backs who will receive playing time in the pre-season. The Jets did not rank Ivory, Chris Johnson or Bilal Powell on the depth chart, but instead listed them all above a second triumvirate of Alex Green, Daryl Richardson and Michael Smith. Ryan believes he'll take a "running back by committee" approach to the season, according to NFL.com 'Around The League' writer Dan Hanzus.

Ivory started Thursday's game, finishing with 17 yards on seven carries. Ivory has previously battled hamstring and foot injuries, which sidelined him for significant portions of the 2011 and 2012 seasons. In 2013, Ivory rushed for 833 yards and three touchdowns on 182 carries.
New Jets quarterback Michael Vick led the team to a 13-10 victory Thursday night over the Colts.
