Vikings DT Linval Joseph OK after being hit with stray bullet
Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph was treated and released from a hospital after he was hit in the calf by a stray bullet following the team's preseason game against the Raiders on Friday night, the team announced in a statement Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred inside 400 SoundBar in downtown Minneapolis. The team described the 25-year-old Joseph as "innocent bystander."
Joseph suffered a minor injury, but the team said he is expected to return this week.
"The entire Vikings organization is extremely thankful that Linval was not seriously hurt, and our thoughts are with all of the victims of this shooting," the statement read. "The team will defer any further comment to the Minneapolis Police Department during its ongoing investigation."
Police were still searching for the shooter as of Saturday afternoon, according to The Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Joseph, a second-round pick of the Giants in 2010, is in his first season with the Vikings after four in New York, where he racked up 175 tackles and nine sacks.
