Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder wants to play, open to trade
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder is open to a trade, USA Today's Tom Pelissero reports.
After the Vikings drafted Teddy Bridgewater and re-signed Matt Cassel, Ponder has been relegated to third-string duties during training camp. The 26-year-old was drafted out of Florida State by Minnesota with the No. 12 pick in 2011.

He has started 35 games for the Vikings during his career, but lost the starting job to Cassel last season.
"If something happens — I get traded, or there's an opportunity elsewhere to play — I want to play. But this is where I am right now. I can't control it."
In nine games last season, Ponder passed for 1,648 yards, seven touchdowns and nine interceptions.
