The 30-year-old was set to make $4.4 million this year with a cap charge of $7 million. Specific details about the new, restructured deal were not immediately available.
He was moved to the injured reserved list last November to undergo microfracture knee surgery and has not been activated from the PUP list. Bowen, who joined the Redskins in 2011 after four years with the Cowboys, has started at right end the past three years and is on the depth chart behind Jason Hatcher and Jarvis Jenkins.
