Cleveland quarterback Johnny Manziel flips off Redskins' bench
Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel flipped off the Redskins bench during a preseason game Monday night at FedEx Field. Manziel, apparently frustrated with his team's 14-3 third-quarter deficit as well as some chirping from fans and opponents alike, threw up a quick and direct finger as he trotted away after an incomplete pass.

After the game, won by the Redskins 24-23, Manziel called his action "a lapse in judgment." During the televised postgame press conference, Manziel said, "I get words exchanged with me throughout the entirety of every game. I should've been smarter ... I need to be smarter than that. There's always words exchanged on the football field."
Browns coach Mike Pettine said after the game Manziel's action "does not sit well. It's disappointing ... you have to be able to maintain your poise."

At one point earlier in the game after a sack by Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, Kerrigan's teammate Brian Orakpo celebrated with a mocking version of Manziel's famed "money" gesture.
It appeared that Manziel was informed that the nation saw the obscene gesture he directed toward the opposition.
Multiple outlets reported Monday Manziel could face up to an $11,025 fine for his "bird."
Manziel is currently competing for the Browns starting quarterback job.
