Pittsburgh Steelers running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount are expected to play in Thursday night's preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Bell, 22, and Blount, 27, face marijuana possession charges after being pulled over in Ross Township, Pa., on Wednesday afternoon. Bell could also be charged with DUI.

Both players could face punishment under the NFL's substance abuse policy.

A source told the Post-Gazette that it would be a “reward” not to play them in an exhibition game.

Bell and Blount are listed as the top two running backs on the Steelers' preseason depth chart.

Bell rushed for 860 yards and eight touchdowns last season, while Blount recorded 772 yards and seven touchdowns as a member of the Patriots.
