Texans linebacker Jadeveon Clowney expected to be ready for Week 1
Houston Texans rookie linebacker Jadeveon Clowney is day-to-day after leaving practice last week, but is expected to play Week 1 against the Washington Redskins. Clowney was held out of practice on Thursday after going helmet-to-helmet with a Broncos player, and did not play in Saturday's preseason game.

Texans coach Bill O’Brien said Monday the rookie is day-to-day.
Clowney was held out of practice on Thursday after a helmet-to-helmet collision with a Broncos player and did not play in Saturday's preseason game.
In June, Clowney missed time after having surgery to repair a sports hernia.
Washington and Houston play on Sept. 7 at NRG Stadium.
