Niners center Marcus Martin out eight weeks with dislocated kneecap
Niners rookie center Marcus Martin will miss the next eight weeks after suffering a dislocated kneecap in Sunday's win over the Chargers, Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reported on Monday.
The team tweeted a quote from head coach Jim Harbaugh in which he said the injury was not a torn ACL, but the team has not given specifics about the injury. The 20-year-old, selected third overall by San Francisco, took to Twitter after the injury to say he'll be back "better than ever before."

The Niners will now decide to either place him on the injured reserve list, which would effectively end his season, or give him the "designation to return" label to allow him the opportunity to return for the second half of the regular season.
San Francisco kicks off the regular season Sept. 7 with a road game against the Cowboys.
