Jets indefinitely suspend cornerback Dimitri Patterson; denies being AWOL
The New York Jets suspended veteran cornerback Dimitri Patterson indefinitely after he showed up at the team facilities on Sunday night after going missing for two days, the team announced.
Patterson, who was expected to be a starter this season, went through a walkthrough practice on Thursday and was last seen Friday at a pre-game meal.

He did not show up for the team’s preseason game against the New York Giants later that night and did not return calls from team personnel who were trying to locate him.
Patterson said there is no truth to reports about him being AWOL.
"The reports about me going AWOL are totally false. I have my reason for missing those days," Patterson told USA Today. "I'm not going to go into specifics, but I've discussed those reasons with the people I need to discuss them with. But as far as going AWOL, no, that's totally false."
