Report: Derek Carr will start for Raiders over Matt Schaub
Raiders players have been informed that rookie Derek Carr will be Oakland's starting quarterback in Week 1, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.
During the preseason, Carr completed 30 of 45 passes for 326 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.

Carr was competing with veteran Matt Schaub, who was acquired in a trade with the Texans in March.

Carr, whose older brother David spent 11 years as an NFL quarterback, was drafted in the second round of this year's draft.
Other prominent rookie quarterbacks, including Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel, are not expected to start for their teams in Week 1.
The Raiders play the Jets on the road Sunday.
