Troy Polamalu named Steelers captain for first time
Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu was named a captain for the first time in his career, the team announced Monday.
Polamalu, an eight-time Pro Bowler, is the defensive captain. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is the offensive captain, and safety Robert Golden and kicker Shaun Suisham lead the special teams.

Polamalu, 33, has spent his entire 11-season career with the Steelers. He has been named an All-Pro five times, has two Super Bowl championships and was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2010.
Last season, he had 69 total tackles, five forced fumbles and two interceptions for Pittsburgh.
