Cardinals RB Andre Ellington will be game-time decision on Monday
Cardinals running back Andre Ellington, who is dealing with a foot injury, will be a game-time decision for Monday night's game against the visiting Chargers, coach Bruce Arians said on Saturday, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
Ellington learned on Friday that he will not need surgery on the foot. He was limited in practice on Saturday, but Arians is "optimistic" Ellington will play on Monday, according to Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic.
RISING STARS: Andre Ellington believes he can carry Cardinals
Ellington, 25, rushed for 652 yards and three touchdowns on 118 carries last season as a rookie, and caught 39 passes for 371 yards and a score. Arians has said in the preseason that he wants to build the Cardinals' offense around the back, who was a sixth-round pick out of Clemson in 2013.
Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu, who is recovering from a torn ACL, will also be a game-time decision on Monday.
