Report: Seahawks DB Jeremy Lane placed on IR
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane has been placed on injured reserve with a designation to return.
ESPN first reported the news.
Lane, the Seahawks' starter at nickelback, re-injured his groin in last week's win over the Green Bay Packers. With cornerback Tharold Simon set to miss time after undergoing knee surgery, Seattle could look to make an addition to its secondary.

Marcus Burley, whom the Seahawks traded for last week, replaced Lane in the second half on Thursday.
Lane can return return to games in eight weeks and begin practicing after six weeks. The 24-year-old recorded 20 tackles in 15 games last season.
The Seahawks play at San Diego on Sunday.
