The Detroit Lions have restructured running back Reggie Bush's contract to help the team stay under the salary cap, Tom Pelissero of USA TODAY reports.

According to Pelissero, Bush is still signed through 2016. He will make $3.5 million this season.

In March 2013, Bush signed a four-year, $16 million contract with the Lions. According to MLive.com, Bush's cap hit this year was originally $4.5 million.

In two games this season, Bush has 41 yards on 15 carries. He does not have a touchdown.

The Lions play the Green Bay Packers at home on Sunday.
