Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne "angrily" left practice on Tuesday after being told he's being demoted from the starting lineup, according to a report from Jean-Jacques Taylor of ESPN.

The 24-year-old -- the Cowboys' sixth overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft -- reportedly left the team's walk-through practice and departed from the Valley Ranch facility after being informed that Orlando Scandrick is replacing him in the lineup.

The news came on the same day team owner Jerry Jones said on a radio show that Claiborne is not yet what the team had hoped for when he was selected by Dallas two years ago.

In his three seasons with the team, Claiborne has just three interceptions. On Sunday, he had a game-clinching interception in a 34-31 win over the Rams but also allowed 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

The Cowboys are currently 2-1 and host the Saints on Sunday.
