LeSean McCoy 'embarrassed' about performance against 49ers
The Philadelphia Eagles offense was mostly hapless in the team's loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. And the offense's star says he's "embarrassed" about his own performance.
"I'm embarrassed," Eagles running back LeSean McCoy said, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff Lane.
McCoy added that he didn't want to talk about the Eagles' running attack. There wasn't much to talk about as McCoy gained just 17 yards on 10 carries, an average of 1.7 yards per carry. For the season, the 26-year-old McCoy has rushed for just 175 yards on 60 carries, a 2.9-yard average. Last week, McCoy told reporters after the team's win against the Washington Redskins -- a win in which he gained only 22 yards on 19 carries -- that he didn't think he was struggling.
All three of the Eagles' touchdowns on Sunday came via the team's defense or special teams. The 3-1 Eagles will come back to Philadelphia to face the 1-2 St. Louis Rams next week.
