Report: Lions to sign former Broncos kicker Matt Prater
The Lions are signing former Broncos kicker Matt Prater, Michael Rothstein of ESPN reported on Tuesday night.
Detroit chose the 30-year old, a Pro Bowler in 2013, over former Cardinals kicker Jay Feely after the two tried out for the team earlier in day.

Prater made 25-of-26 field goals last season for Denver, but his performance was marred by a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The Broncos released him last week. Lions head coach Jim Caldwell said team officials are looking into the circumstances under which Prater was suspended for alcohol-related issues.
Detroit's kickers so far this season are a combined 4-for-12. The Lions now have an overall record of 3-2 on the season heading into Sunday's game in Minnesota vs. the Vikings.
