New Orleans Saints vs Detroit Lions

On Sunday, the New Orleans Saints (2-3) go on the road to take on the Detroit Lions (4-2) at Ford Field. The Saints had a bye in Week 6 and beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in overtime in Week 5, while the Lions are coming off a win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Week 6: Lions 17, Vikings 3

The Lions got a win over the division rival Vikings. The Detroit defense intercepted rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater three times. Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 185 yards but didn't turn the ball over. Theo Riddick led the way in receiving with five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown.

Week 5:Bills 17, Lions 14

Dan Carpenter won it for Buffalo on a 58-yard field goal with four seconds remaining after Detroit kicker Alex Henery missed all three of his attempts in the game. Golden Tate caught seven passes for 134 yards and a touchdown. Rashean Mathis scored a touchdown for Detroit with a 41-yard interception return.

Week 4: Lions 24, Jets 17

The Lions took a 17-3 halftime lead and held on for the win on the road. Matthew Stafford was 24-of-34 for 293 yards and two touchdowns, and Golden Tate caught eight passes for 116 yards. Detroit won the turnover battle 2-0.

Week 3: Lions 19, Packers 7

Detroit held the Packers to just 223 yards of offense and held the ball for 38:13. The Lions had a 40-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Don Careyand a safety recorded by DeAndre Levy, who tackled Eddie Lacy in the end zone. Reggie Bush had Detroit’s lone offensive touchdown, a 26-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Week 2:Panthers 24, Lions 7

Detroit turned the ball over three times and did not have a takeaway. The Lions’ lone score came in the third quarter on a one-yard pass from Matthew Stafford to Jed Collins that gave them a 7-6 lead. Stephen Tulloch logged three tackles for loss.

Week 1: Lions 35, Giants 14

Matthew Stafford threw for 346 yards and two touchdowns, both to Calvin Johnson. Johnson finished with 164 yards and two touchdowns on seven receptions. Detroit held the Giants to just 197 yards of total offense.

Week 5: Saints 37, Buccaneers 31 (OT)

The Saints won in overtime over the Buccaneers in Week 5. Khiry Robinson scored on an 18-yard touchdown run with just under 10 minutes left in overtime to seal the win. Quarterback Drew Brees threw for 371 yards and two touchdowns. The Buccaneers came back from being down 31-20 in the fourth quarter to force overtime.

Week 4: Cowboys 38, Saints 17

The Cowboys raced to a 24-0 halftime lead behind a pair of touchdown passes from Tony Romo to Terrance Williams. The early deficit forced New Orleans to all but abandon its running game, rushing 13 times and throwing 44 passes. The Saints also turned the ball over three times.

Week 3:Saints 20, Vikings 9

Drew Brees threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns while finishing the game with a passer rating of 120.3. Rookie wide receiver Brandin Cooks led the Saints in receiving with eight catches for 74 yards. Marques Colston, Josh Hill and Pierre Thomas recorded the team's touchdowns.

The Saints outgained the Browns and possessed the ball longer, but two turnovers — a Drew Brees interception and a Khiry Robinson fumble — opened the door for Cleveland, who went on to win the game on a field goal with three seconds remaining. Mark Ingram recorded 83 yards and a touchdown on the ground, while Jimmy Graham was Brees's top target with 10 catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

Week 1:Falcons 37, Saints 34

Matt Bryant hit a 51-yard field goal as time expired in regulation, then kicked a 52 yard game-winner in overtime. Drew Brees threw for 333 yards and a touchdown, along with an interception. Mark Ingram rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns and running back Khiry Robinson and rookie wide receiver Brandin Cooks added the other two scores.
