Injured Eagles running back Darren Sproles (knee) returns to practice
Injured Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles returned to practice on Tuesday and said that he expects to play Sunday against the Cardinals, according to Reuben Frank of CSN Philadelphia.
Earlier, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said Sproles, who has been dealing with an MCL sprain, was prepared to practice this week.
The Eagles had a bye week after their 27-0 victory over the Giants on Oct. 12. Sproles left the game with the knee injury and was expected to be out 1-2 weeks.
The 5-1 Eagles will be in Arizona to take on the 5-1 Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. Philadelphia is tied with Dallas for first place in the NFC East.
This season, Sproles has rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries. He also has 16 receptions for 198 yards.
Philadelphia ranks No. 14 in the NFL so far this season in rushing yards per game with 116. The Eagles led the NFL in rushing with 160.4 yards per game last year.
