Cardinals' Patrick Peterson suffers concussion after violent collision

Star Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson suffered a concussion after a violent three-way collision in the team's game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Star Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson suffered a concussion after a violent three-way collision in the team's game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, according to NFL.com.

Cardinals safety Deone Bucannon collided with Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin in the second quarter of the Cardinals' 24-20 win on Sunday. The force of Bucannon's hit appeared to knock Maclin's helmet into Peterson's. Peterson stayed down for several minutes before walking off the field gingerly and heading into the Cardinals' locker room. He did not pass concussion tests and did not return to the game.

Maclin also suffered an ear injury on the play, but he returned to the game. 

Peterson is widely viewed as one of the league's top cornerbacks, having been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three NFL seasons. He signed a $70 million contract extension in the offseason.
