Buccaneers release offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford
The Buccaneers have released offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford from his contract, the team announced Friday.
Tedford joined the Bucs this season but took an indefinite leave of absence in September after undergoing heart surgery and has remained away from the team ever since. "I am happy to state that I’m healthy now and feeling great," Tedford said in a statement.
Quarterbacks coach Marcus Arroyo has called plays for Tampa Bay in the interim. Tedford complimented Arroyo's work as playcaller and said he did not want to disrupt the team by returning. " I simply could not, in good conscience, become more of an obstacle to Lovie, to Marcus, the offensive staff and the whole organization – after all they have done for me," Tedford said.

Tedford was the head coach at the University of California-Berkeley from 2002 to 2012. Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports Tedford is interested in returning to the college ranks.
