New York Jets coach Rex Ryan is preparing to be fired by owner Woody Johnson on Monday, according to a report from ESPN.com. Ryan reportedly has already started cleaning out his office.
Johnson is also expected to dismiss general manager John Idzik, the report said. The Jets hired Idzik as their GM in January 2013.
Ryan has led the Jets to a 45-50 record over nearly six seasons. The Jets reached the AFC Championship game in each of his first two seasons but have since failed to reach the postseason.
Ryan has reportedly known since the offseason that the Jets plan to fire him after the season. The Jets (3-12) face the Dolphins in Miami on Sunday to close the regular season.
