The Dallas Cowboys have placed defensive tackle Henry Melton on injured reserve with a bruised knee, the team announced Tuesday.

Melton was injured in Sunday's win over the Washington Redskins.

The Cowboys signed veteran linebacker James Anderson to take Melton's spot on the roster. Anderson was released by the New England Patriots before the season and picked up by the Atlanta Falcons, who cut him before Week 17.

The Cowboys play the Detroit Lions on Sunday in the NFC Wild Card round. Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh had his one-game suspension overturned on Tuesday
