Ex-NFL coach Mike Holmgren: I was offered two head coaching jobs
Former Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren told KJR 950-AM on Monday he was offered two NFL head coaching jobs recently but turned them down.
Holmgren also said that he was interested in the San Francisco 49ers' job but the interest was not mutual. He did not identify which teams offered him a job but told the radio station that he is done coaching.
“The important thing is that it’s done,” Holmgren said of his coaching days.
The 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders, Chicago Bears, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills all have head coaching vacancies.
