Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch loses appeal over media silence
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch lost his appeal of a $100,000 fine for not speaking to the media, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The NFL fined Lynch $50,000 in November after a loss to the Chiefs. The league also moved to collect an additional $50,000 it had fined Lynch the previous season. The NFL initially handed down that $50,000 fine last January, but it decided to delay collection as long as Lynch agreed to comply with the league policy on media availability.
Lynch's agent criticized the NFL's decision to reject the appeal on Thursday.
Several weeks after he was fined, Lynch spoke to the media but replied "thanks for asking" to nearly every question.
The Seahawks are set to host the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Divisional Round on Saturday. Lynch rushed for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns this season.
