Colts linebacker D'Qwell Jackson arrested for assault
Indianapolis Colts linebacker D'Qwell Jackson was arrested on Tuesday for simple assault, police told SI.com.
The alleged incident occurred on the 1900 block of 12th Street Northwest in Washington, D.C. Jennifer Donelan of WJLA-TV reports that Jackson assaulted a pizza delivery driver over a parking space.
The 31-year-old pizza delivery employee told police he said to Jackson that he was going to use the space momentarily, but Jackson allegedly got upset and told the driver to get the "expletive" out of his parking space before punching the driver in his face and on the back of his head.
According to SI's Michael McCann, Jackson would face 180 days in jail if he is convicted.
Jackson, 31, is an eight-year NFL veteran. He had 140 combined tackles, 4.0 sacks and four fumble recoveries last season.
He intercepted a pass from New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in the AFC championship game. After he gave the ball to an equipment manager, the Deflategate controversy was set into motion.
