Buccaneers release quarterback Josh McCown
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released quarterback Josh McCown, the team announced on Wednesday.
McCown started 11 games for the Buccaneers in 2014, including their final eight. He threw for 2,206 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while completing 56.3 percent of his passes.
The 35-year-old signed with Tampa Bay last March as an unrestricted free agent. He's played for five different teams in his 12-year career, including time with the Chicago Bears under current Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith.

Releasing McCown leaves Tampa Bay with two quarterbacks on its roster: Mike Glennon and recent addition Seth Lobato.
The Buccaneers hold the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NFL draft. SI'slatest mock draft has Tampa Bay choosing Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota with that pick.
