The 2014 league salary cap was $133 million, which was a nearly $10 million jump from 2013. The 2015 salary cap was expected to increase due to the NFL's new television package that sold Thursday Night Football to CBS last year for a reported worth of at least $250 million.
This year's cap will take effect on March 10, when the 2015 league year and free agency period begin.
