The Oakland Raiders have signed free-agent quarterback Christian Ponder, the team announced on Friday. Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that it is expected to be a one-year deal.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Friday that the Raiders were bringing Ponder in for a visit.

Ponder spent the first four years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings, who drafted him No. 12 in 2011. He started 36 games in that time, including all 16 regular season games in 2012.
