Report: Texans sign wide receiver Cecil Shorts
The Houston Texans have signed wide receiver Cecil Shorts, reports the Houston Chronicle's John McClain.
Shorts, 27, spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2014, the 6'0", 202-pound receiver caught 53 passes for 557 yards and one touchdown in 13 games.

[daily_cut.nfl]A fourth-round pick of the Jaguars out of Mount Union in 2011, Shorts has caught 176 passes in his career for 2,343 yards and 12 touchdowns.
In seven career games against the Texans, Shorts has caught 21 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns.
Earlier this month, the Texans signed former Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer to a two-year deal.
Houston also re-signed quarterback Ryan Mallett to a two-year deal.

Last season, with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback for 12 games, the Texans finished 17th in the league with 344.6 passing yards per game.
