Steelers re-sign Darrius Heyward-Bey to one-year deal
The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey to a one-year contract, the team announced on Thursday.
Heyward-Bey, 28, caught just three passes for 33 yards last season in his first year with the Steelers.
The Raiders selected Heyward-Bey with the No. 7 pick in the 2009 draft out of Maryland and he played the first four seasons of his career in Oakland. He also spent one season with the Indianapolis Colts before joining the Steelers.

During his six-year career, Heyward-Bey has caught 172 passes for 2,413 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Heyward-Bey was buried on Pittsburgh’s depth chart behind Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton, and Martavis Bryant. Led by Ben Roethlisberger’sleague-leading 4,952 passing yards, the Steelers finished No. 2 in yards and No. 7 in scoring last season.
