Bears sign former Falcons RB Jacquizz Rodgers
Jacquizz Rodgers signed a one-year contract with Chicago Tuesday, the team announced.
The move adds depth to the Bears' running back corps and removes Rodgers from the franchise he called home for the first four years of his NFL career: Atlanta.
The 25-year-old former Oregon State standout played in each of the Falcons' 16 games last season, amassing 217 yards and scoring one touchdown.

Rodgers should place on the depth chart after Bears' starting running back Matt Forte and backup Ka'Deem Carey, according to NFL.com.
Rodgers backed up Michael Turner and Stephen Jackson during his time in Atlanta.
Chicago finished 27th out of 32 teams in overall rushing yards and rushing average last season.

With a terrorizing defense and an awesome music video called "Super Bowl Shuffle," the Bears crush the New England Patriots 46-10 in Super Bowl XX. With icons like William "Refrigerator" Perry, Walter Payton and Jim McMahon, the Bears completed one of the best seasons of any team in NFL history.

Under legendary coach George Halas, the Bears positively annihilate the Washington Redskins 73-0 in the 1940 NFL Championship game. Halas had some help from bulletin board material from Redskins' owner George Preston Marshall, who called the Bears "quitters and crybabies" before the game.

During the back-and-forth NFL Championship game, the Bears are charging down the field against the Giants with little time remaining. Down 21-16, Bears fullback Bronko Nagurski fakes like he is running up the field before tossing a jump pass to Bill Hewitt, who runs before lateraling the ball to Bill Karr, who proceeds to run in for the touchdown. Imagine that to conclude the Super Bowl.

Bears derail New York Giants' high-flying offense with five turnovers as anemic Bears offense (144 total yards) scores just enough for a 14-10 win in the sixth and final NFL title of coach George Halas' illustrious career.

Rookie Gale Sayers ties an NFL record by scoring six touchdowns via running, receiving and an 85-yard punt return in 61-20 rout of San Francisco. Sayers finishes '65 with a one-season record 22 touchdowns, still a mark for rookies.

Walter Payton took the field against the New Orleans Saints, needing 67 yards to break Jim Brown's career rushing record. To begin the second half, Payton takes a basic toss sweep and becomes the all-time leading rusher. Head coach Mike Ditka compared Payton with only Jim Thorpe as the best football players to ever live.

The Bears trail 20-0 at halftime against the upstart Arizona Cardinals, who are hosting their first Monday Night Football game in the brand new University of Phoenix Stadium. Despite six turnovers and a horrific game from Rex Grossman, the Bears' defense stops the Cardinals, turns turnovers into touchdowns and cap it off with a Devin Hester punt return for a TD. Some say that was the kickoff for the Bears eventual Super Bowl berth that season.
