Jameis Winston might not attend draft to be with grandmother
Potential No. 1 pick Jameis Winston might not attend the NFL draft because his grandmother has type-2 diabetes and can’t travel, he said while speaking on the NFL Network.
Winston held his pro day on Tuesday and is the favorite to be the top pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the draft next month.
Earlier this month, Peter King of The MMQB reported that Winston would not attend the draft that will be held in Chicago. Winston said he hasn’t made a final choice, but is considering his grandmother’s health.
“We haven't made that decision yet, but my grandmother can’t travel, and ... she’s been my life,” Winston said.

The draft will be held from April 30 through May 2. The Buccaneers have the No. 1 pick and are followed by the Titans, Jaguars, Raiders and Redskins in the top-five.
