When former NFL star Darren Sharper is released from prison following a plea deal scheduled to put him behind bars for nine years, he'll be subject to a battery of monitoring devices, including a penile plethysmograph test, according to a New Orleans Advocatereport

Sharper would be subject to the plethysmograph test, which monitors male arousal, in Arizona, one of the four states

Sharper agreed to plead guilty or no contest in May to raping nine women in each of the four states. As part of a plea deal, he will spend nine years in prison.

Earlier this week, ProPublica, the Advocate and Sports Illustrated conducted a joint investigation into criminal authorities' failure to stop Sharper's assault spree. You can read the special report here.

The former New Orleans Saints star and NFL Network commentator has been in jail since 2014 when rape charges were filed against him in Los Angeles.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Louisiana District Court June 15 on three charges of rape. The arraignment was scheduled earlier, but District Court Judge Karen Herman delayed the case in light of the pending unresolved Federal rape case against Sharper.

While he pled guilty or no contest in three of the four states (California, Arizona and Nevada) where he was alleged to have committed the crimes, he has not yet officially pled guilty in Louisiana Federal Court.
