Future London NFL team could share stadium with Tottenham Hotspur
English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur is considering sharing its redeveloped stadium with a future London NFL franchise, according to The Guardian.
The North London club is hoping to move into the new £400 million White Hart Lane ahead of the 2018-19 season.
If Tottenham decides to share its stadium with an NFL franchise, it would have to install a retractable grass pitch, allowing an NFL team to use a synthetic surface that would rest below the grass. The club would also build larger locker rooms to accommodate the larger rosters and staffs of American football teams.
University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, also has a retractable field.

The NFL has regularly played games at London's Wembley Stadium since 2007. This season, Wembley will host three games.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said last year that a franchise in London "could be five or 10 years away."
