La'el Collins won't meet with police until after NFL draft
Former LSU defensive end La'el Collins will not meet with police regarding an investigation until after the NFL draft, NFL.com reported. Police are seeking to speak to Collins in relation to a crime for which he is not currently a suspect.
No date or time has been set for the interview, although Collins left Chicago on Wednesday. Collins was in Baton Rouge on Thursday, ready to meet with police.
On April 24, a 29-year-old woman named Brittany Mills was found dead in her apartment. Mills, who was eight-months pregnant at the time of the murder, was believed to have had a relationship with Collins at one time, although police have not determined the nature of the relationship between the two.
Mills' child survived the shooting. The identity of the child's father is not known.
Collins was a first-team All-SEC and second-team AP All-America selection last season.
