Twitter reaction to Tom Brady, Patriots' Deflategate discipline
The NFL announced Monday that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been suspended four games without pay for his role in Deflategate.
Additionally, the Patriots forfeit their first-round draft pick in 2016 and their fourth-round pick in 2017. The team has also been fined $1 million.
Locker room attendant Jim McNally and equipment assistant John Jastremski, who were both mentioned in Ted Wells' report on the investigation into Deflategate, have been indefinitely suspended without pay by New England.
Wells' report, released on Wednesday, found that "it is more probable than not that New England Patriots personnel participated in violations of the Playing Rules and were involved in a deliberate effort to circumvent the rules" and that it is probable that Brady "was at least generally aware of... the release of air from Patriots game ballsβ."
The Deflategate discipline spurred reactions from current and former NFL players and other athletes on Twitter. We're rounding up the best tweets here.Β
