Buffalo Bills defensive end Jarius Wynn sustained a torn ACL during Friday's preseason game and is likely out for the season, according to Bills team beat writer Chris Brown.

Wynn had been expected to back up starting defensive ends Mario Williams and Jerry Hughes. The 28-year-old appeared in 11 games last season for Buffalo, starting one.

“Obviously that's a devastating loss to us and to him,” head coach Rex Ryan told reporters on Sunday.

A former sixth round pick by the Green Bay Packers, Wynn recorded 17 tackles and two sacks last season.

Last week, the Bills claimed defensive end IK Enemkpali on waivers after he was released by the New York Jets for punching Geno Smith in the face. Enemkpali was given second-team reps during Buffalo's 25–24 preseason loss to the Carolina Panthers on Friday.
