Buffalo Bills rookie running back Karlos Williams will likely miss multiple weeks with an undisclosed injury, according to a report from Tyler Dunne of TheBuffalo News.

Dunne reported that Williams' injury was “serious” after he was hospitalized after waking up in severe pain Monday.

The 22-year-old led Buffalo with 14 rushing attempts in the team's preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers on Friday. He finished with 40 yards rushing and one touchdown, while also catching two passes for 23 yards.

Williams' injury adds to the Bills' plights this preseason, as fellow running backs Anthony Dixon, Fred Jackson and Bryce Brown were also sidelined recently with injuries.

Williams, a fifth round draft pick out of Florida State, recorded 689 yards on 150 carries with 11 touchdowns last season for the Seminoles.
