Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin has torn ACL, out for season
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin has a torn ACL, the team confirmed Wednesday.
Benjamin was carted off the practice field earlier in the day after sustaining an apparent left knee injury.
Panthers coach Ron Rivera told reporters after practice that Benjamin had sprained his knee and that he would have an MRI.
Benjamin appeared to injure himself while running during a one-on-one drill with Dolphins corner Reshad Jones. He fell to the ground clutching his left leg, and put no weight on it as he made his way off the field, according to Jonathan Jones of TheCharlotte Observer.
Benjamin posted a message on his Instagram page after receiving the diagnosis.
