Week 1 of the NFL season is the first step of a grueling journey to Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara on Feb. 7, and while the season lasts no more than 20 games for the luckiest teams, the twists and turns of every week of action make it all but impossible to forecast where the league will stand and how each playoff race will look a month from now, let alone several months down the road. All but impossible, but not completely impossible.

For Sports Illustrated's NFL preview issue, Greg Bedard predicted the outcome of all 256 games of the NFL regular season. He's bullish on the Ravens, who hope to avoid the injuries that took the steam out of their playoff run last season. As for the other end of the standings? It could be a long year in Chicago (and Washington, and Jacksonville) if these picks hold.
